Registration for Learn to Swim (LTS) will be available online by Thursday, March 25, 2010 no later than Noon. Registration can be completed at the Red Cross office located at 3057 Michigan Avenue, Stevens Point, WI 54481 or through this website by following: Get Trained > Classes. Please choose carefully as the classes are arranged by start date. At this time only credit cards are accepted for online registration. Cash, credit, or check is accepted at the Red Cross office.
For this session, you may also choose to register at the CenterPoint Market Place, 5:00pm-6:00pm on Thursday, March 25, 2010.
Private one-on-one swim lessons are conducted during the same time frames as regular swim lessons. Registration for private lessons will be taken by phone (715) 344-4052 or at the CenterPoint Market Place. The cost is $75.00
All swim classes are held at PJ Jacobs Junior High which is located at 2400 Main Street, Stevens Point, WI 54481.
All LTS classes run ONE evening per week for six weeks total (which equals six classes). Classes are offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday depending on the class that you are taking.
All LTS registration is on the "first come first serve" basis. Class capacity information located online will be updated on a regular basis. Red Cross LTS management will have the final decision on any class capacity questions.
Swim caps are required for all classes. Swim caps can be purchased at the Red Cross office located at 3057 Michigan Avenue, Stevens Point, on the first evening of class, or on our website (store > chapter store > babysitting and swim items) The cost is $5.00 per cap.
Scheduled times are subject to change. Classes with less than four (4) students per level may be canceled or combined with another level. Every effort will be made to accomodate each student in class.

Swim Level Descriptions:
Parent and Child Aquatics (PACA) - For children 6 months and up with parent (or helper 18 years or older) participation.
Level 1 - Introduction to water skills. Helps participants feel comfortable in the water.
Level 2 - Fundamental aquatic skills. Builds off of previous level through fundamental skills.
Level 3 - Stroke development skills. Builds off of previous level through additional guided practice in deeper water.
Level 4 - Stroke improvement skills. Builds off of previous levels by developing confidence and improvement.
Level 5 - Stroke refinement skills. Builds off of previous levels by providing refined coordination of strokes taught.
Level 6 - Swimming and skill proficiency. Refines strokes for greater distance swimming. This class also offers options for preparation into more advanced courses such as Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard. Note: this class is not a certifying class for any advanced water courses.
